Indian cricket fans have been waiting for the return of Mohammed Shami for a long time. The fast bowler has not played a single match since the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. He took 24 wickets in the tournament at an average of 10.70. Shami suffered an ankle injury during the World Cup, due to which he underwent surgery in London in February this year. Shami is working hard for his comeback in NCA.

Meanwhile, Shami has given a big update regarding his fitness, ending the tension of Team India and the fans. Shami said that he is completely fit and ready to play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played in Australia from November 22. Before this, he can take part in one or two matches for Bengal in Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

I will have to spend more time on the field- Mohammed Shami

According to NDTV Sports, Mohammed Shami while talking about his fitness said,

I am very happy with yesterday’s bowling. Earlier I was bowling from half run-up because I did not want to take too much load. But yesterday, I decided to bowl with full force and I bowled 100 percent.

Let us tell you, Shami was seen bowling for more than an hour on the main pitch of M Chinnaswamy Stadium after the first Test between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru.

Talking further, Shami said,

The result was good. I am 100 percent pain free. Everyone was wondering for a long time whether I would be able to play in the Australia series, but it is still some time away. The only thing on my mind is to stay fit and how strong I can be for the Australia series. I can see what kind of attack we need in Australia. I have to spend more time on the field. I want to play a few (Ranji) matches before I leave.
