Meanwhile, the South African team has suffered a major setback. Fast bowler Nandre Burger has been ruled out of the ODI series against Ireland and the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh due to injury.
No information has been revealed as to who will replace Berger in the ODI series against Ireland. However, the board has clearly said that it will soon announce the replacement of the fast bowler for the Test series against Bangladesh.
Nandre Burger has a back injury
The South African Cricket Board issued an official statement before the start of the second ODI against Ireland, writing,
South Africa team’s fast bowler Nandre Burger has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the ODI series against Ireland and the upcoming Test tour of Bangladesh due to a back strain. Nandre, 29, felt pain in his lower back and scans later revealed he had a concussion. He will return home and undergo further investigation. His replacement for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh will be announced soon.

South Africa still has to play 6 Test matches in the ongoing cycle of the World Test Championship 2023-25. The team will have to win at least five out of six matches to stake a claim for the finals.
Tony de Jorji is not playing the second ODI
South Africa’s top-order batsman Tony de Jorzi is not playing the second ODI against Ireland due to a right knee injury. Kyle Verrene has replaced him in the playing 11. Let us tell you, De Jorji suffered a knee injury while fielding during the first ODI.
