Since then, the ICC is looking for a new venue. In such a situation, UAE is emerging as a strong contender to host this tournament. According to a Cricbuzz report, due to lack of time, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is looking at Dubai / Abu Dhabi as an option, but BCB has asked for more time. The ICC is expected to take a decision soon, it is expected that the ICC will announce the new venue on August 20 when an online meeting of the directors is scheduled, although the agenda of this meeting will be different.
The report states that a BCB official has asked the ICC for five days before taking any decision. If the ICC gives additional time, it will have to take a decision on the board meeting on August 20. It is being said that the ICC had to take a decision on the Women’s World Cup by August 15.
Regarding hosting the T20 World Cup, Jai Shah said, “Next year we will host the 50-over Women’s World Cup. We do not want to give any indication that we want to host the World Cup continuously.”
He said, “Bangladesh had asked BCCI if they could host this tournament, but I flatly refused. Right now the monsoon season is going on and next year we are going to host the Women’s ODI World Cup. I do not want to give the impression that I want to host consecutive World Cups.”
