Rachin Ravindra also returned to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs. For the hosts, Prabhat Jayasuriya took 6 wickets in the first innings while Nishan Peiris took 3 wickets.
Not only this, despite the follow-on, New Zealand could not make a comeback in this match and were all out after scoring 360 runs in the second innings. In the second innings, Glenn Phillips scored 78 runs for the team while Mitchell Santner contributed 67 runs. Devon Conway scored 61 runs while Tom Blundell played an inning of 60 runs. In the second innings, Nishan Peiris took 6 wickets while Prabhat Jayasuriya took three wickets. While on one hand Kamindu Mendis was awarded the Player of the Match award, on the other hand Prabhat Jayasuriya won the Player of the Series award.
