Former Indian cricket team opener Parthiv Patel has given a statement which has created quite a stir in the cricket fraternity. Parthiv says that no matter how big a player you are, records (milestones) always remain in your mind.

It is noteworthy that the five-match Test series between India and England is about to start, the first match of which will be played from Thursday, January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. So in this series, experienced Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin can touch the figure of 500 wickets in Test cricket. Ashwin currently has 490 test wickets.

Parthiv Patel gave a big statement

Let us tell you that while doing the match preview on Jio Cinema regarding the Test series between India and England, when expert Parthiv Patel was asked what would you think if you were Ashwin, he said that I would also think the same. Zaheer Khan asked Parthiv how Ashwin’s mood was going to be during this Test series. So he said-

This is a five-match Test series, and I want to tell you that it is important for Ashwin to take 10 wickets. But it is also important for someone else in the team to take wickets, because of the kind of form Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have.

If you talk about milestones, no matter how big a player you are, you will always have them in your mind. This is a huge accomplishment, and it doesn’t happen overnight. For this you work hard for 10-15 years and after that you reach here. There are very few cricketers who are able to achieve this position. Also I think Ashwin will not need more than 2 Test matches to reach there.
