The first test match between India and Bangladesh will be played from 19 September.
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has given a strong warning to Rohit Sharma and company before the start of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Indian team will play the first Test match against Bangladesh from September 19. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India is preparing vigorously for this Test series. The first Test match is to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Bangladesh team recently clean swept Pakistan in the two-match Test series in Pakistan. Keeping that in mind, Gavaskar has warned Team India including Rohit Sharma that they should not make the mistake of taking Bangladesh lightly. Let us tell you that, two years ago in the Test match played in Dhaka, Bangladesh had put India in trouble, however Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin together led Team India to victory.
Sunil Gavaskar warned Rohit and company
Gavaskar wrote in his column in Mid-Day, ‘Bangladesh has shown how strong they are by defeating Pakistan in both the Test matches played in Pakistan. Not only this, when Team India visited Bangladesh two years ago, even then this team gave a tough fight to India. Now after winning the Test series against Pakistan, their morale is high and now they would like to defeat India.’
Gavaskar further said, ‘They have some good players and some young cricketers have also impressed, who are not afraid of the opposing team. Now whichever team plays against them will not take them lightly, because they know that Bangladesh has defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series. This series will be worth watching.’
The Indian team has to play a total of 10 important Test matches in the coming few months. First of all, it has to play two Test matches against Bangladesh, then three Test matches against New Zealand on its home ground, while then the team has to tour Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where it will have to play five Test matches. These 10 Test matches are going to be very important for India in terms of the World Test Championship.
