Aakash Chopra believes that IPL can prove to be a game-changer for the Kolkata Knight Riders captain to stake his claim in the T20I team. They said that, “Shreyas Iyer – You are out of the T20I list at the moment. However, you can bounce back on the back of a great IPL. If he performs well, scores more than 550 runs, which he probably will, will anyone ignore him?
Then you will say that he should be kept in the team because he is a powerful player. At this point, he’s out of that loop. At some stage, he may come back, but for him, it is extremely important to have a good IPL. This is a wonderful opportunity.”
KKR has many talents who are capable of making a place in the Indian team. One such player is Suyyash Sharma. The spinner took wickets at an impressive economy rate of 8.23 in 11 matches in IPL 2023. Looking at his wicket-taking ability, it seems that only Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine were ahead of him in terms of wickets.
