The World Cup is over now and we need to look ahead. I can guarantee that all our players want to win matches for Pakistan – Shan Masood
As part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle, the Pakistan cricket team is going to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh from August 21. Shan Masood will be seen leading the team, while Saud Shakeel has been appointed as the vice-captain.
Before the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Shan Masood has made a big statement about the team, he has rejected all the claims of match fixing within the team. Let us tell you, after Pakistan’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, a senior journalist had accused Babar Azam of match fixing.
All our players want to win matches for Pakistan- Shan Masood
At the pre-series press conference before the start of the Test series against Bangladesh, a reporter asked Shan Masood, what message would he give to his team members after Arshad Nadeem’s historic gold medal at the Olympics?
The reporter also said that making the country proud can reward the players more than earning from match fixing and any wrong things. Responding to this, Shan Masood said that he cannot question the intentions of anyone in the team because everyone wants to win matches for Pakistan.
I cannot question anyone’s intentions just because you used the word match-fixing. I don’t think anyone can question their integrity in the current system of Pakistan cricket. This is something I don’t agree with at all. The World Cup is over now and we need to look ahead. I can guarantee that all our players want to win matches for Pakistan but wins and losses keep happening and whenever we lose, we feel the most pain.
