The mega auction for IPL 2025 is starting from today. Marquee players were bid in the first two sets of the auction. In this series, bids were placed on Team India’s star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was not retained by Delhi Capitals. Many franchises bid for Rishabh Pant in this auction, but Lucknow Super Giants bought him for Rs 27 crore.

Lucknow, RCB and Hyderabad bid for Rishabh Pant. RCB has withdrawn its hands after 11 crores. But Lucknow and Hyderabad did not give up. Lucknow made the highest bid of Rs 20.75 crore but Delhi used RTM, after which Lucknow bid an amount of Rs 27 crore and Delhi decided not to use RTM.

Former Delhi Capitals player Rishabh Pant is one of the most awaited players due to his impressive IPL career in which he has 3,284 runs in 111 matches and a strike rate of 148.93. His skills as a wicket-keeper batsman, coupled with his potential leadership qualities have made him a highly sought after player ahead of the auction.

Apart from his ability as a wicketkeeper, Pant can also prove to be a good captain as he has captained Delhi Capitals for three seasons. This is why the demand for Rishabh Pant increased so much in the mega auction. For this reason all the franchises showed interest in him.
