Players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma became part of the Test series of South Africa tour directly after the ODI World Cup 2023. India is the first Asian country to win a test match in Cape Town.

In the first test match against South Africa, Team India had to face defeat by one innings and 32 runs. But then the team made a tremendous comeback in the second test match. India won by 7 wickets and ended the series at 1-1. Rohit Sharma is the second Indian captain who has achieved such a feat in South Africa.

Before Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni had done this in the 2010 tour. In the first match of the Test series against South Africa, Rohit Sharma was able to score 5 (14) and 0 (8). Then in the second test match, he played innings of 39 (50) and 17* (22).

Team India is ready for T20 series against Afghanistan

After the South Africa tour, Team India is ready for a three-match T20 series against Afghanistan at home from January 11. Team India has not been announced for the T20 series against Afghanistan. But such reports are coming that Rohit Sharma will be seen captaining.

Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, who have been seen commanding the T20 format, are injured at the moment. Along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul may also return to the T20 setup. All three players have not played the T20 format since the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals.
