Rohit Sharma also made an important partnership of 80 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket. However, his wicket was taken by England’s experienced spinner Jack Leach.

Rohit Sharma wanted to play a big shot against Jack Leach. But the English spinner reduced the speed of the ball due to which it did not hit the bat properly and went high in the air. English Test captain Ben Stokes caught this ball very well and gave the first blow to the Indian team.

In this match, England had made a very good start but the Indian spinners gave a tremendous comeback to the hosts. Apart from Ben Stokes, experienced batsman Joe Root contributed 29 runs while Jonny Bairstow played a valuable inning of 37 runs. Ben Duckett played a brilliant inning of 35 runs.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took two wickets each. At present the Indian team is in a strong position in this test match and it remains to be seen which team wins this match?
