Sri Lanka cricket team is currently on South Africa tour for a two-match test series. So the first match of this series is being played between the two teams from December 27, 2024 at the Kingsmead ground in Durban.

So bowling all-rounder Wiaan Mulder, who got injured during this match, is out of the entire series. So, as a replacement for Mulder, Cricket South Africa has included Matthew Breetzke in the team.

Let us tell you that in this match, he suffered a finger injury while batting during South Africa’s first innings. This injury of the 26-year-old player was so serious that he had to be ruled out of the entire series. Due to this injury he cannot participate in almost any kind of cricket for a month.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka, status of first test match

So if we tell you the condition of this match, the third day of play in the first test match has ended today on 29th November. At the end of the second day, South Africa has scored 225 runs at the loss of three wickets in the second innings after 69.3 overs. At present, Tristan Stubbs is present at the crease with 64* and Temba Bavuma scoring 62* runs. Host South Africa has a strong lead of 374 runs over Sri Lanka.

Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka’s first innings was reduced to just 42 runs due to the amazing bowling of South Africa.
