Quetta Gladiators will play their first match of Pakistan Super League 2024 against Professionals Zalmi on February 18 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Pakistan Super League 2024 is starting from 17th February. Many people are eagerly waiting for this great tournament. With this, a big news is coming out regarding the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League. Sarfaraz Ahmed will not be seen captaining the Quetta Gladiators team in the 9th edition of Pakistan Super League.
In fact, in the last season of Pakistan Super League, the performance of Quetta Gladiators under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed was quite disappointing. The team had won only three out of 10 matches and Quetta Gladiators were at the bottom in the points table. Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omer said that Sarfaraz Ahmed had to take a break from captaincy and we will announce the new captain only after talking to head coach Shane Watson.
Either South African batsman Riley Rousseau or Pakistani batsman Saud Shakeel can be appointed captain of the team in place of Sarfaraz. However, it will be announced very soon who can be seen captaining the Quetta Gladiators team in the upcoming season.
According to Geo News, Nadeem Omar said, ‘Sarfaraz had to take a break from captaincy and now after talking to our new head coach Shane Watson, we will decide who will captain the team.’
Sarfaraz Ahmed has performed very well while captaining Quetta Gladiators.
