Afghanistan lost their dream of playing in the final, but they will be very proud of their team’s performance throughout the tournament. They finished the competition as the second-best Asian team after India and ahead of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Although, Afghanistan could not make it to the finals, but money will rain on them even after being eliminated from the semi-finals.

T20 World Cup Prize Money: How much money will Afghanistan get after being out of the Semi-Final?

This time a lot of money was spent on the teams in the prize money of T20 World Cup.

The prize money for the tournament was fixed at ₹93.50 crore.

Afghanistan will get Rs 6.55 crore despite losing the T20 World Cup semi-final.

Apart from this, the team was to get Rs 25.9 lakh for winning every match except the final and semi-final matches.

Afghanistan won five matches till the semi-finals and hence they will get Rs 129.5 lakh for this also.

In this way, Afghanistan will get a total of Rs 7.84 crore as prize money.

Rashid Khan made a promise to the fans

After the semi-final defeat, captain Rashid Khan posted a post on social media praising his and his teammates’ efforts. The Afghan captain said the team will always remember the T20 World Cup and thanked his teammates for their fight.

Along with this, Rashid Khan promised the fans that he will continue his performance in the upcoming tournaments to be played in the future. The star spinner also thanked the fans for believing in the team and inspiring them to fight during the T20 World Cup.
