Rubel had participated in a protest on the ring road in Adibor. During the protest rally, unidentified people opened fire on the crowd. In this incident, Rubel was shot in the chest and stomach and died on August 7. Shakib was an MP during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure at that time. Therefore, he has also been implicated in this case.

Shakib Al Hasan got an order to be removed from the team

According to a report by bdcrictime.com on Sunday, August 24, following the filing of the criminal case, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Shajib Mahmud Alam has sent a legal notice to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), demanding the immediate removal of Shakib from the national cricket team.

The report claims that as per the legal notice, the all-rounder should not be allowed to continue playing for Bangladesh under the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules as a criminal case has been registered against him.

Shakib is currently in Pakistan and is playing in the first Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
