Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has talked about including Shivam Dubey in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and USA. Dubey, who is currently a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), is in great form at the moment. Seeing the kind of cricket he is playing this season, everyone is praising him.
Virender Sehwag, known for his aggressive batting style, believes that only those players who are in good form should be selected for the T20 World Cup. He talked about Dubey’s excellent performance in the IPL and said that the way he is playing, his ticket for the T20 World Cup should be confirmed.
Virender Sehwag gave a big statement regarding Shivam Dubey
In Cricbuzz’s Hindi show, Virender Sehwag said, “I had said before the match that the way Shivam Dubey is playing, his ticket for the T20 World Cup should be confirmed. They have put a lot of pressure on players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul and now they will have to score runs consistently to make it to the World Cup team. You take those players in the team who are in form.
Like Sehwag, great all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also expressed his support for Dubey’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad. After watching Dubey’s explosive innings of 45 runs against SRH Yuvraj said on social media, “Good to see Shivam Dubey clearing the field with ease!! I think he should be in the World Cup team. He has the skill to stay in the match.”
Dubey definitely batted well in the match against SRH but his team had to face defeat by six wickets. With this win, SRH has moved to fifth place in the IPL points table with two wins from four matches. CSK, on the other hand, is at the third position in the points table with four points due to better run rate.
