Let us tell you that Iyer could not play some first class matches last season due to a back injury. However, he made a comeback during the IPL. After being dropped from Team India’s central contract in February, Iyer was recently a part of the Indian team in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. In three matches, he scored 23, 7 and 8 runs.

Iyer was part of the Indian team in the first two Tests of the home Test series against England earlier this year. He was also part of Mumbai’s successful Ranji Trophy campaign in March. He scored 95 runs in the second innings against Vidarbha in the final. Iyer has played a total of 72 first-class matches so far, in which he has scored 5664 runs at an average of 48.82. During this, Iyer has scored 13 centuries and 30 half-centuries.

It is worth noting that India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will also be a part of Mumbai in this tournament. This tournament is considered important in terms of preparation for India’s red ball season. Sarfaraz Khan will captain Mumbai in this tournament.
