Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently met Jammu and Kashmir para-athlete Aamir Hussain Lone. Lone faced many challenges after being involved in an accident at the age of 8. He lost both his hands in that accident. However, due to his dedication and hard work, he was given the captaincy of the state para-cricket team.
Tendulkar, who is currently in Kashmir, had earlier mentioned that he wanted to meet Lone after being impressed by his story and unique playing style. The 50-year-old recently took to his official social media handle to share a video of his meeting with the para-cricketer and his family. In that video, he was seen talking to Aamir.
Sachin Tendulkar was seen talking for a long time with Aamir Hussain.
Sachin asked Aamir what he was doing now, to which Aamir said, “Playing cricket, sir.” Today I felt very happy. Never lose hope in life, I moved forward thinking this. After this Sachin told about Aamir’s journey. Aamir has been playing cricket professionally since 2013 when a teacher discovered his cricket talent and introduced him to Para cricket.
Aamir told Sachin, “After the accident, I did not lose hope and worked hard. I can do everything by myself and do not depend on anyone else. In 2013, I was selected for Jammu and Kashmir Para cricket team. You remain my inspiration.”
He further said, “I played Nationals in Delhi in 2013 and 2018. I played an international match against Bangladesh. After that I played cricket in Nepal, Sharjah and Dubai. Everyone was surprised to see me playing (bowling) with my feet and batting with my shoulders and neck. I thank God for giving me the strength to play cricket.” Sachin had promised to meet Aamir last month and he fulfilled this promise by meeting Aamir.
