Cricket fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) starting from 22nd November. On the other hand, statements are being made continuously by former cricketers before the start of this much-awaited series.

In this sequence, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting had expressed concern about former captain and Virat Kohli, who is out of form in Test cricket these days. On this statement of Ponting, the current head coach of the Indian team and former opener Gautam Gambhir had said that he should stop worrying about Kohli’s form and focus on the Australian team.

On the other hand, Gambhir has now got the support of former Indian captain and Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada, on this statement. Ganguly says that there is nothing wrong in whatever Gambhir said.

Sourav Ganguly defended Gautam Gambhir’s statement

Let us tell you that in a recent discussion with Revzsports, Ganguly said – I would just say that let him be. I saw some criticism on what he said in the press conference. He (Gambhir) is like that, let him remain like that.

When he won the IPL, it was just like that, you were rooting for him. Just because he has lost three Test matches and one ODI series, the straight thing has not been viewed well. But that’s just the way it is.

Ganguly further said- Ever since I have watched cricket, Australians have been difficult for you. He has played his cricket like this, be it (Steve) Waugh, Ponting or (Matthew) Hayden. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in what Gambhir has said. That’s just the way he is, and he fights, he competes. So let’s give him a chance. He has been in coaching only for two-three months and you are passing judgment on him.
