Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has praised Tilak Verma, who scored two consecutive centuries while batting at number three in the T20 series against South Africa. Surya said that the responsibility given to this young batsman was fulfilled by him well. India won the series 3-1 by registering a big win of 135 runs in the fourth and final match.
Virat Kohli batted at number three for Team India in T20 for a long time, whereas before retiring from T20I, Virat Kohli opened in this format. Since then many batsmen have been tried at number three. Rishabh Pant opened in the T-20 World Cup, but Team India did not get much success there.

Suryakumar has also batted at this number but he decided to send Tilak at number three in the last two matches against South Africa and the 22-year-old player took full advantage of it. Surya said in the press conference after the match, “The thought was revolving in my mind that a player batted at number three for a long time and achieved great success.”
SKY said, “So it was a great opportunity for a young batsman and he took full advantage of it. We both talked about it and he took the responsibility. He was ready as soon as he spoke. The way he batted here was amazing. Hopefully he continues to perform well not only in T20 but in all formats.
Surya Kumar said, “We had played some T20 International matches before winning the T20 World Cup. We talked about what kind of cricket we have to play to move ahead.” He said, ”In IPL we play for different teams but when we play for India, it is the same. We want to perform as we do for our franchise teams. We want to play that kind of cricket. After the T20 World Cup, we moved forward following the same things.
