With India becoming the T20 World Cup 2024 champion, the tenure of head coach Rahul Dravid has now ended. Rahul Dravid represented the Indian team as a player for 16 years, but could not lift the ICC trophy even once. Under his captaincy, the team was eliminated from the group stage in the 2007 World Cup.

However, now under his leadership and under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India has captured the ICC trophy. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has made a big revelation and told how Rahul Dravid inspired the mindset of the players.

‘You are the best judge here to take the right decision at the right time’

He said, “He showed a graph of the number of T20I games played by the entire Indian team, from Virat bhai to Yashasvi Jaiswal (the most junior member). That number was over 800. Then he showed a second slide which had the number of games played by the entire coaching staff, including Rahul bhai. And that number was 1.”

Suryakumar said, “He (Dravid) told us, ‘You are the best judge here to take the right decision at the right time. So leave everything else to us, go out there and enjoy your game.'”

Let us tell you that Rahul Dravid took over the command of the Indian team as the head coach in 2021. Under his leadership, Team India reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, the World Test Championship final in 2023 and the World Cup 2023 final. However, his last day as the Indian coach came when India won the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy after a gap of 11 years.
