India defeated Sri Lanka by 43 runs in the first T20 match played in Pallekele and took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. All the players from India performed very well in the first match and played an important role in their team’s victory. After the match, Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Riyan Parag a lot.
Let us tell you, Riyan Parag could not leave his mark with the bat in this match and was out after scoring 7 runs. However, he performed very well with the ball and took three important wickets for five runs in 1.2 overs. Suryakumar Yadav also expressed confidence in his young all-rounder and Riyan Parag did not disappoint his captain at all.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has shared a video on its official social media account in which Suryakumar Yadav said, ‘I have seen Riyan Parag bowling in the IPL. I had also said in the press conference that he will be our X-factor. If the batsman is not able to hit big shots on such an easy ball, then the job will become even easier for a captain.
The team has a lot of depth in batting and everyone has a skill. That is why you know very well that if one day the skill of one player does not work, then the others will take care of it. I want to become a leader, not a captain.

Riyan Parag said about his bowling, ‘I like bowling a lot. I bowl as much as possible behind the scenes. There was talk in the nets that I might have to bowl and I was fully prepared for it. I also spoke to Gautam Sir and asked him how I should bowl in the 16th or 17th over of the match. The rest of the players made my job very easy. I was just bowling at the stumps and the ball was also spinning.’
India has won the first T20 match and now the second match between these two teams will be played today i.e. on 28th July. India would definitely want to win this second T20 match as well.
