T20 World Cup 2024: I was fortunate to get the opportunity to captain this unit, says Rohit Sharma


Rohit has thanked the fans for their support during the T20 World Cup.

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has thanked the fans for the support they received during the T20 World Cup 2024. Also, Rohit has said that he is very lucky to have got the opportunity to captain this champion unit.

It is worth noting that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India won the T20 World Cup title after 17 years. Before Rohit, India won the first season of the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

So after winning the T20 World Cup, the Indian team reached India on 4th July. After reaching India, the first thing that Team India did was to meet PM Narendra Modi in Delhi and after that in the evening, along with the felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, a victory parade was also seen on Marine Drive. Also, now a big statement from Captain Rohit has come out regarding this victory.

Let us tell you that India has won the T20 World Cup for the second time by defeating South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup. Rohit said after the felicitation ceremony in Mumbai, as quoted by The Hindu- I want to thank the Indian cricket fans on behalf of my team and BCCI.

Rohit further said- Ever since we reached India, we have seen how much this World Cup means to them. For the last 11 years, they have wanted the trophy back in India. The fans were more eager to win the trophy than we were. This team is special and I am fortunate to have got the opportunity to captain this unit.
