Team India has qualified for the Super-8 by defeating USA, Pakistan and Ireland in the group stage of T20 World Cup 2024. The group stage match against Canada was canceled due to rain, but despite this, Team India topped the group and now it has to play against Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia in the next stage.

Rohit Sharma’s team played all its group stage matches in America, it has not played a single match on Caribbean soil so far. Despite this, former cricketer Stephen Fleming believes that his team is very good considering the circumstances. He also said that the Indian team is balanced and looks in a good position to go to the Super 8.

“I like the job they have done. I think this is a team that has been picked for the final. This is a team that has spinners who can dominate. It has players who can dominate spin. And we have seen that spin plays a huge role in the West Indies,” Fleming said on ESPNcricinfo’s ‘Timeout Show’.

Fleming further said that, they have completed their job. They have done it very smartly. We want to play important matches like this and hope to make it to the semi-finals and finals. Their team can play on a turning track. Due to the conditions, I think they are in a good position.

Team India will play their first match in the Super 8s against Afghanistan in Barbados on June 20 (Thursday). They will then take on Bangladesh in Antigua on June 22 and play their final Super 8 match against Australia in St Lucia on June 24.
