Team India has confirmed its place in Super-8
Team India has confirmed its place in the Super-8 by defeating USA in the match played on June 12 in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, the best spinner Kuldeep Yadav did not get a chance to play in a single match. Everyone knows what wrist spinners can do with their balls.
Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Piyush Chawla believes that wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav will be India’s favorite specialist spinner when Team India plays in the Super-8 of the T20 World Cup. He said that the conditions in New York were not favorable for spin bowling, but now Indian spinners will show their prowess in this tournament.
There wasn’t that much need for spinners in New York, but…
“The pitch in New York was very dangerous and the way India performed on that pitch and won three out of three matches, we have a very good chance of progressing,” the former Indian cricketer told media on the sidelines of the IISM convocation in Mumbai on Thursday.
He further said, spinners were not needed that much in New York, but once you reach the second stage for the Super-8, spinners have a big role to play in the West Indies. Our spinners will come into play now.
He chose Kuldeep Yadav as his first choice instead of Yuzvendra Chahal. Chawla said, honestly, only one spinner will play and I think Kuldeep will be the first priority because of what he has done in the last one and a half years. You have Axar and Jadeja who can give you depth in batting, so I think Kuldeep will play.
Let us tell you that India has to play one more match in the group stage against Canada, which will be played on June 15.
