Cricketers will no longer be seen in alcohol and tobacco advertisements, government wrote a letter to BCCI and SAI

Nowadays, advertisements of all kinds of products are shown in newspapers, TV, radio and digital media, which also include advertisements related to things like smoking, tobacco and alcohol. Sportsmen are also seen promoting such advertisements, which is sending a wrong message to the youth. The Health Ministry of the Central Government has now taken a big step in this matter, the Ministry has written a letter to BCCI and Sports Authority of India (SAI), requesting to ban the players from doing advertisements related to alcohol and tobacco. Atul Goyal targeted IPL Director General of Health Services Atul Goyal has expressed concern over surrogate advertisements for tobacco and alcohol related products during popular sporting events like IPL. Atul Goyal wrote in the letter, It is disappointing to see surrogate endorsements of tobacco and/or alcohol-related products by some of the most famous cricketers and actors during cricket events like the IPL. These personalities are role models for millions of youth across the country. Atul Goel also suggested several measures to address this issue. He suggested that both BCCI and SAI issue directives to players and cricketers within their reach and urge them not to participate in surrogate promotions or advertisements of tobacco-related products. Additionally, he recommended against promoting or advertising such products in stadiums or events organized by these organizations. Atul Goyal wrote at the end of the letter, Such measures will not only help reduce tobacco consumption among youth but will also strengthen the positive image of sportspersons as advocates of health and fitness.
BCCI tightened its grip on misleading advertisements for admission in NCA, said this big thing

However, now BCCI has completely rejected such advertisements by cracking down on such misleading advertisements. Also, Apex Cricket Board has said that admission in NCA is available only after merit based process. So the board does not charge any money for this. BCCI issued a statement and clarified the picture Let us tell you that after coming to the notice of such misleading and fraudulent advertisements, BCCI issued a press release on February 16, in which Secretary Jai Shah said – BCCI wants to clarify that it will not take any money from the cricketers for using its facility. Doesn’t take. BCCI has its own protocols and entry into the NCA is a merit-based process. The NCA is open only to BCCI’s central contract players, targeted groups and cricketers sent by state cricket boards. Apart from this it is not open to any agency. Cricketers, coaches and the general public are advised to exercise caution and not fall victim to such fake and fraudulent posts and contact the respective state associations for guidance. Sports and management company 21st Century Media has received the highest payment of Rs 39 crore from BCCI. The team made it to the finals of the World Cup by winning 10 consecutive matches. However, Team India had to face defeat at the hands of Australia in the final of the World Cup. This was the first time that the entire World Cup was hosted by India. So, India’s advertising, airlines and hotel companies have benefited a lot from this World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has recently cleared the outstanding bills of all the people. BCCI gave information Let us tell you that the information about payment of more than 25 lakhs has been officially announced by BCCI. Among these outstanding payments, BCCI has made the biggest payment to sports marketing company TCM (21st Century Media). The entire marketing work during the World Cup was done by this firm, which also included the mid-innings ceremony during the final match. For this, BCCI has paid Rs 38.60 crore to this firm. Apart from this, Rs 23.47 crore has been paid to Media Investment Group M for media management. Whereas Vistara has been paid Rs 8 crore for its services, DNA Entertainment has been paid Rs 6.9 crore and Akasha Air has been paid Rs 3 crore. Apart from this, BCCI has paid Rs 2.9 crore to transport company KTC India Pvt Ltd, Rs 2.5 crore to ITC Hotel and Rs 2 crore to Spyjet. Also, these payments do not include information on minor expenses of the tournament before November 2023. So, roughly, BCCI has paid Rs 16 crore to the airlines which include Akasha, SpiceJet and Vistara Airlines. Also, BCCI has paid Rs 10.4 crore to the hotels in which the players stayed during the World Cup. These hotels include hotels like Radisson Blu, ITC, Taj and Nariman Point.
