Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, Gujarat Giants team could score only 126 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Mumbai Indians bowlers did not give Gujarat Giants a single chance to make a comeback. Every strategy of captain Harmanpreet Kaur seemed to be proving correct. Captain Beth Mooney played an inning of 24 runs in 22 balls. Beth Mooney became the victim of Shabnam Ismail in the 11th over. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten inning of 46 runs for the team with the help of 5 fours and 1 six in 41 balls and the team won the match. Tanuja Kanwar took maximum 2 wickets for Gujarat Giants. Whereas Katherine Bryce and Lee Tahuhu took 1-1 wicket.
