Whichever country the Indian team plays a match with, the opposing board also benefits a lot. Recently Cricket Australia has confirmed that they have benefited a lot from India in the ticket sales of the Border Gavaskar Trophy to be held later this year. The Australian Board says that this time their tickets have been sold 6 times more in India compared to the last time. Let us tell you that the Border Gavaskar series is to be played between India and Australia from November 22. Till now this series between the two countries used to be of 4-4 matches, but seeing the increasing popularity of this series, for the first time in 33 years this will be a five match test series. Cricket Australia gave a big statement regarding ticket sales Cricket Australia said in its official statement, “The fierce rivalry between India and Australia has led to a record-breaking six-fold increase in the number of tickets purchased by fans in India compared to last season.” The Boxing Day Test (which is played from 26 to 30 December) has seen a ten-fold increase in ticket sales to Indian buyers compared to 2018/19. Joel Morrison, Cricket Australia’s General Manager of Events and Operations, said, “We are thrilled to see so many Indian fans planning to travel to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They can expect a very warm welcome here. We are committed to providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone who attends, and we are confident that this series will be remembered for many years to come.” The much-awaited Boxing Day Test will begin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 and the series will conclude with the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney from January 3.
