BCCI has requested the teams to provide information about more names to be added to the marquee list. IPL 2025 (Image Credit- Twitter X) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed all the 20 teams that two sets of marquee players will be available for bidding in the IPL 2025 auction. It is noteworthy that the auction for the upcoming season of IPL is going to be held on 24th and 25th of this month in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Apart from this, BCCI has informed the franchises that two marquee lists consisting of 8-9 players in each set will be presented. Interestingly, only one set of marquee players was available in the 2022 mega auction. Apart from this, two sets of marquee players were seen in the mega auction of 2014 and 2018. Also, let us tell you that in this time’s marquee list, bidding will be seen on some big names like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mitchell Starc and Jos Buttler. Franchises can spend around 30 to 40 percent of their remaining purse to buy two of these players. 1574 players have been registered for IPL auction On the other hand, BCCI has not yet released the list of players included in the marquee list. However, it is expected to be released in the next few days. BCCI has shortlisted a total of 1574 players for this time’s auction. These players include 1165 from India and 409 foreign players. Apart from this, BCCI had asked the teams to suggest the names of some players in the marquee list, the deadline for which was till November 12. So now as the date of auction for IPL 2025 is getting closer, excitement is being seen among the fans. It will be worth watching that which team bids the most for marquee players this time?
