Like the first day, even today the franchises spent a lot of money on the players. However, one-time champions Gujarat Titans (GT) have roped in talented Punjab fast bowler Gurnoor Brar, winning the bidding war from Chennai Super Kings (CSK). GT included a player with a base price of Rs 30 lakh in its team by paying Rs 1.30 crore. The 24-year-old player was a part of Punjab Kings in IPL 2023. However, he got a chance to play only one match that season against Lucknow Super Giants, in which he failed to make an impact. In the match, he had to spend 42 runs in three overs without getting any wicket. However, after this, this 6 feet 6 inches fast bowler has got a lot of benefit from his height in cricket. With his hit the deck bowling, the player took 22 wickets in 11 matches played in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League. Additionally, Brar recently bowled to the Indian batsmen at the Chepauk nets, ahead of the Chennai Test against Bangladesh in September, and made some of them uncomfortable with his pace and bounce. He joined the camp because the Indian team management wanted a bowler who could give their batsmen proper practice before the clash with Bangladesh’s tall fast bowler Nahid Rana. Gurnoor has worked as a net bowler with GT. Also, let us tell you that Brar has previously worked as a net bowler with Gujarat Titans. However, now he will be seen playing in the team along with star fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, Kagiso Rabada and Prasidh Krishna etc. The player has taken 20 wickets in the five matches played for Punjab in the Ranji season 2024-25. Well, it will be interesting to see how he is going to perform in IPL 2025 for Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans.
