The thing is that the month of April is a month where there are a lot of festivals – the major ones being Eid and Baisakhi, which are celebrated with great enthusiasm in all the regions of Pakistan, especially in the Punjab region. In such a situation, Lahore Divisional Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa called a meeting in his office on Tuesday, April 9, the issue of which was how to organize the Pakistan vs New Zealand match during the festival. Along with this, from the preparation of the stadium to the accommodation of the players, the remaining works have been completed and are still pending. Commissioner Randhawa announced that Sikh pilgrims will begin their journey to Pakistan by crossing the Wagah border from April 13 to celebrate the Baisakhi festival. At present the arrangements for Sikh pilgrims are being finalized. Randhawa then highlighted the issues of hygiene and safety for Eid al-Fitr. Plans for security and duty assignments for ‘Chand Raat’ and Eid celebrations have already been circulated. With the fourth and fifth T20s to be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, PCB officials gave the commissioner a detailed information about the matches to be played between the two teams. He said from security point of view that lighting should be done everywhere and no area or place should be left in darkness. 355 employees and officials will be appointed for cleaning during the matches. 120 walk-through gates and 336 additional CCTV cameras will be installed to ensure foolproof security. Instructions have been given to strictly inspect the prices and quality of food items outside and inside the stadium.
