According to the rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, only a maximum of five capped and two uncapped players can be retained before the auction. Not only this, the player who makes his international debut before October 31 will be considered a capped player. IPL said in its released statement, ‘It is up to the IPL franchise to choose the combination for retainers and RTM. 6 Retention/RTM can include a maximum of 5 capped players and two uncapped players.
