Rohit was in the top-10 between February 27, 2021 and February 21, 2023. Rohit Sharma (Source X) ICC has recently released new batting rankings, in which many changes have been seen. There has been a tremendous decline in the ranking of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Before the New Zealand series, the T20 World Cup-winning captain was ranked 15th in the ICC Men’s Test batting rankings. But after a very poor performance in three out of four innings of the ongoing Test series, he dropped nine places to 24th. This is the lowest ranking of Rohit Sharma in the last 6 years. After Rohit’s innings of 63* and 5 runs against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in December 2018, he had reached 44th position. And after scoring a few centuries against South Africa in October 2019, he made a tremendous improvement in his ranking, reaching 17th position. Not only this, Rohit was in the top-10 between February 27, 2021 and February 21, 2023. He achieved an all-time high rating of 813, which came in September 2021. This was a time when he was the fifth best Test batsman in the world. In the ongoing Test batting rankings, his teammates Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have also dropped six and five places to reach 14th and 11th position respectively.
