It is worth noting that this actor has acted in the famous English television series Eastenders, Doctors and 9/11 mini series The Looming Tower. So this decision in this case came in Southwark Crown Court at a time when Gus Atkinson was making a record by taking four wickets in the first innings of the third Test against West Indies. To give you an idea about the said case, 31-year-old Youssef Beroune killed 55-year-old Caroline Atkinson, a mother of three, on December 10, 2020, while recklessly driving at twice the speed in a 30 mph zone. An investigating officer who arrived at the spot had informed that Beroun was smelling of intoxicants. And when he was tested for roadside test, he was behaving strangely. Youssef Beroun fled to the US to avoid investigation Also, bringing Beroun to justice was far from a straightforward process, as he fled to the United States via Dubai after the incident. The United States-United Kingdom extradition treaty was invoked to bring him before Southwark Crown Court, with the help of United States Marshals and British embassy officials in Washington. After extradition, Beroun pleaded guilty on June 14 this year. But Atkinson’s family was still waiting for the punishment of the culprit. But now after nearly 6 weeks of hearing the case, the culprit has been sentenced to eight and a half years.
