PAK vs NZ (Image Credit- Twitter X) In 2021, the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) suddenly decided to cancel its tour of Pakistan just minutes before the start of the match, citing security reasons. This decision of New Zealand caused an uproar in the cricket world, as both Pakistan and New Zealand teams were on the field to play the first ODI in Rawalpindi. The New Zealand Cricket Board had said that there was a threat to the safety of their players, due to which they have decided to cancel this tour suddenly. It is worth noting that this was New Zealand’s first tour of Pakistan in the last 18 years, which included three ODIs and five T20 matches, but due to security concerns, this tour was suddenly canceled. According to media reports of the time, a reliable source in NZC had received information about the security threat before the match started. After this, after consulting the security officials deployed for the match and the New Zealand government, the board decided to cancel the entire series and asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to make arrangements to leave Pakistan as soon as possible. Regarding this matter, NZC Chief Executive Officer David White said at that time – The safety of the players is paramount, and after the increase in the threat level, we felt this was the only responsible step of action. Huge news this, about New Zealand pulling out of their tour of Pakistan and heading back home. Feel for cricket lovers in Pakistan but since this is because of a perceived security threat, it will impact other teams touring there too — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) September 17, 2021 There was a big setback to the return of cricket in Pakistan So after this sudden decision taken by the New Zealand Cricket Board, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had expressed its disappointment. However, despite the tight security arrangements they had made, the board was quite worried about such an incident. But they also later acknowledged the importance of the safety of the players. It was a result of PCB’s hard work to bring cricket back to Pakistan but this incident suddenly dealt a blow to all the efforts it had made in the past some time.

PCB (Image Credit- Twitter) The hosting rights of the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 are with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) this time. It is worth noting that the much-awaited 9th season of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. Geoff Allardyce has confirmed that the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 tournament will be hosted in Pakistan. Geoff Allardice (Image Credit- Twitter X) International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Geoff Allardice has confirmed that the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 tournament will be hosted in Pakistan. He said that they are not planning to change the hosting of the upcoming tournament at all. Let us tell you that the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament will be played in the months of February and March 2025. For the upcoming tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also started work in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi stadiums. Construction work has started in all these three venues and the upcoming tournament can be organized here. For quite some time now, there have been reports that this tournament can be played outside Pakistan. Actually, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not want to send Team India to Pakistan. Not only this, PCB also believes that except India, all the teams participating in the tournament have already visited Pakistan. In such a situation, India has no solid reason to refuse to tour Pakistan. Champions Trophy 2025 tournament will be held in Pakistan itself A few days ago, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla had revealed that Team India’s tour of Pakistan will depend on the instructions given to them by the Indian government. The upcoming tournament will see fierce clashes between India, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. West Indies and Sri Lanka will not be seen participating in the Champions Trophy 2025. Now it remains to be seen what decision the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) takes on this. The Indian team has never toured Pakistan since 2008. It is also possible that the Champions Trophy 2025 tournament may be played in a hybrid model, although no confirmation can be made about this right now. PCB postponed the National Junior Championship just a day after it started, know the big reason here
18 regional teams participate in this domestic tournament of Pakistan. PCB (Image Credit- Twitter) Just a day after the start of the National Junior Championship, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone it. The participants and officials of the tournament have been informed about its postponement by PCB. On the other hand, PCB said in a short press release regarding the sudden postponement of the tournament that due to unavoidable circumstances, the tournament is being postponed with immediate effect. It is worth noting that a lot of money was spent by PCB to gather the participants of the tournament. Furthermore, a Pakistan Cricket Board confidant revealed that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi had received several complaints that participants in the tournament had taken part with fake documentation, which could have led to problems in the selection of teams as well as the underlying issue of age fraud. This PCB confidant was quoted by News18 as saying- Junior tournaments are considered by the board as the backbone of preparing the right talent for first-class cricket and international performances. This is why despite the long selection process, Mohsin Naqvi got upset when he received several complaints, some of which were valid. PCB may suffer financial loss It is worth mentioning that 18 regional teams of the country participate in this National Junior Championship of Pakistan. And the PCB brings the players who perform well in this to First Class Cricket, from where the door to the National Team opens. However, now these 18 teams were taken to training centres where training took place and the players were provided with food, accommodation and transport facilities apart from kits and daily allowances, the total amount of which was reportedly in the millions of rupees. But this now only seems to be causing a financial loss to the PCB.
“I am not a batsman, I am a tailender…” On which question did uncle Iftikhar Ahmed get angry; video went viral
A clip of Iftikhar Ahmed is going viral in which he is describing himself as a tailender and not a batsman. Iftikhar Ahmed (Image Credit- Twitter Iftikhar Ahmed’s career is in danger after continuous poor performances for Pakistan. Once a reliable lower middle-order batsman, Iftikhar failed to perform well for the team in the ODI World Cup and the recently concluded T20 World Cup, after which he was severely criticized by cricket experts. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has called for a ‘surgery’ on the Pakistan team after their poor showing in the T20 World Cup and said all underperforming players will be axed. Pakistan have a lot of white-ball cricket to play with series against Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe before the Champions Trophy in 2025. In such a situation, if Mohsin Naqvi’s words are to be believed, then it will be difficult for Iftikhar to regain his place in the Pakistan team unless he changes his performance. Iftikhar Ahmed has only one way left Iftikhar will have a chance to attract attention in the Champions Cup (Pakistan’s domestic tournament) starting on September 12, where he will play under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan in the team Wolves. If he wants to make a comeback in the team, he will have to perform brilliantly in this domestic tournament. Meanwhile, recently a clip of Iftikhar is going viral in which he is calling himself a tailender and not a batsman. In the video, the reporter asked Iftikhar about his struggles while batting in the middle order. However, Iftikhar immediately replied saying that he is not a middle-order batsman or an all-rounder but a tailender. Watch video Chacha is angry with Pak captain and management. pic.twitter.com/pjjxsodU13 — Usama Zafar (@Usama7) September 8, 2024 Iftikhar said in the video “I am not a middle order player, I am a tailender. A middle order player or all-rounder plays at 4 or 5 but I play at 7-8 so I am a tailender. Middle order batsmen and all-rounders play at number 4-5 but I bat at number 7-8 so I consider myself a tailender.” What is a tailender in cricket? Lower order batsmen are called tail-enders. Mostly lower order batsmen are bowlers who stay to bat last. However, finisher would be the right word for Iftikhar as he bats well and hits long sixes.
