This fast bowler has taken Indian cricket to new heights with his excellent performance. His brilliant performance in the World Cup 2023 has made him one of the legends of Indian cricket. After sitting on the bench for the first four matches, Shami wreaked havoc on the batsmen in the remaining matches and took 24 wickets. Against a team like New Zealand, Shami took 7 wickets in the semi-final match which is the best performance by any Indian bowler in this mega tournament. He set up food distribution centres in areas near his home to help the needy. This initiative brought relief and ensured safety to thousands of labourers and needy people. He said that this tradition is inspired by the habits of his ancestors. This step brought a huge change in the lives of those who were facing difficulty in walking. He built four pitches for practice in his village. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved his initiative and allotted 1.09 hectares of land.
