On the other hand, before the start of this auction, former Indian captain and opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar has given a big statement regarding Shreyas Iyer. Gavaskar says that KKR can still bid for his services. It is noteworthy that under the captaincy of Iyer, KKR had won the IPL title of the year 2024. However, the franchise has not retained him due to disagreement over the amount being retained. KKR has retained Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh. Gavaskar further said about the star Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was released from Delhi Capitals, that Delhi would like him, because if Rishabh Pant is not in their team, then they will also have to find a captain. So, I think Delhi will definitely try to use the RTM card or bring Rishabh Pant back to their team in the auction.
