Shardul is neither playing the ongoing Test series against England nor the Ranji Trophy game for Mumbai. He could not even be a part of the team in the matches against Kerala and Bengal. Shardul is still waiting for approval from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Despite Mumbai’s hopes, NCA’s Return to Play (RTP) approval is not forthcoming. Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna were included in the team after Thakur was dropped from the team after Centurion’s defeat against South Africa in December 2023. Talking about Shardul Thakur, he is still waiting for approval from NCA so that he can play in the upcoming Ranji Trophy matches.
