South Africa has played only four matches in the third round of the World Test Championship. In comparison, Australia and England have played 12-12 matches, India have played nine matches, New Zealand and West Indies have played six matches each and Pakistan has played five matches. Out of the four Test matches played by South Africa, two were played against New Zealand. In these 2 matches, South Africa’s first choice players were busy playing the SA 20 tournament. Due to which the Proteas’ B team went on tour.

The Temba Bavuma-led side is currently placed seventh in the WTC (World Test Championship) points table and qualifying for the World Test Championship final seems to be a tough task. Meanwhile, the captain spoke openly about the schedule and said that the players always feel like they are starting afresh again and again as there is no consistency in the team.

Temba Bavuma expressed displeasure over the team calendar

There is no problem with players in the world’s 3 big teams Australia, England and India. International cricketers are always present to play matches for the team, but South African players give up on the country’s team to play league cricket. On this, Bavuma said that the team management is discussing the Test blueprint. With its help, the schedule and team calendar will be improved. Bavuma hopes that things will improve in the future.

He said despite all the challenges, the players are excited ahead of playing against the West Indies in the two-match series starting August 7.

“It’s a challenge that’s not necessarily unique to us. Because it’s a challenge that all teams outside of the big three face. It feels like we’re starting over and over again as a team. The challenge is to work with what we have. We don’t use it as an excuse.”

Australian bowlers looked very worried while Pant was at the crease. Australia vs India, 1st Test (Image Credit- Twitter X) Rishabh Pant (37) is seen batting brilliantly along with debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy (41) in the first match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Pant’s batting played an important role in helping Team India, which won the toss and batted first, recover from the initial setbacks. However, before getting out against Australian captain Pat Cummins, Pant was seen batting in complete control. So, to dismiss Pant, who was looking dangerous in the match, the captain of the opposing team, Cummins, had also made a special plan, about which former cricketer Michael Hussey has also talked. Hussey, who was doing live commentary during the match, said- This is why you can make a fast bowler the captain. He is a smart bowler, smart captain, Pat Cummins. He bowled this ball outside the off-stump, threatening Rishabh Pant’s composure, and it just went a little full. Rishabh Pant, he saw that midwicket and tried to work there. Yashasvi Jaiswal (0), Devdutt Padikkal (0) and Virat Kohli (5) disappointed for India. However, for India, KL Rahul scored 26 runs, Rishabh Pant scored 37 runs and Nitish Reddy scored 41 runs, due to which India was successful in reaching this target. Whereas the Australian bowlers took advantage of the home conditions and bowled brilliantly and except spinner Nathan Lyon, all the fast bowlers took wickets. For the Kangaroo team, Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets and Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took 2 wickets each.

In the match, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Australia vs India, 1st Test (Image Credit- Twitter X) India is facing Australia in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series from November 22 at the Optus Stadium, Perth. In the match, stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah has won the toss and decided to bat first, which has not proved right for the team. So when Team India, which had scored 150 runs in the first innings, came out to bowl, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has performed amazingly. Bumrah gave India its first success by dismissing Nathan McSweeney (10) in the third over itself. However, after this, there was a golden opportunity to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne, who came to bat at number three, on zero, but due to a mistake by Kohli, Team India could not dismiss him. Let us tell you that on the fifth ball of the same over being bowled by Bumrah, Labuschagne, who was on strike, was facing his first ball, and while defending, the ball went lightly from the bat towards slip and into the hands of Virat Kohli. Although Kohli took this catch, he could not handle the ball till the end and the catch was dropped. It will be worth seeing that Labuschagne gets this lease of life, otherwise the Indian team does not face a burden like the World Cup 2023.
