After Delhi Capitals (DC)’s 20-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 31, left-arm fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed has made a big statement regarding CSK’s fan following. Let us tell you that Visakhapatnam is DC’s home ground for the first few matches of the season, but Khalil Ahmed said that, the way CSK gets support, the ground where they play becomes their home ground.
During the DC vs CSK match, the stadium in Visakhapatnam was painted yellow and despite it being a home match of the Capitals, many fans of former CSK captain MS Dhoni and his team were present there. Even CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed happiness at the support and welcome he received at the time of the toss. Later, when Khalil was asked about it, he won everyone’s hearts with his answer.

“First of all, let me tell you, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) always plays its IPL matches at home (laughs),” Khaleel was quoted as saying by India Today during the post-match press conference. We also respect it. We also enjoy it and it is fun because he (Dhoni) is our captain also.”
The DC fast bowler was surprised to see the fan following of CSK, who create a homely atmosphere for their team everywhere, no matter the ground. Despite DC having few supporters in the stands, a huge number of fans were present on the field to support the Men in Yellow.
The fast bowler further said, “But there were some fans from Delhi who came to support us during the match and they will be happy with the result. Everyone in the team has a smile on their face, the mood in the camp is also good.” He further said that, “When you win, you get momentum. Wins bring out our best performances and also reveal areas where we need to improve. Therefore, the environment created now has answered those questions.”
