Great former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has said that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are entitled to retire as T20 cricketers whenever they want. Yuvraj has reminded the fans that Virat and Rohit have been the two biggest stars of Indian cricket and they should have the right to retire whenever they want.
Virat and Rohit are expected to be the first two names in India’s T20 World Cup team. After India’s defeat in the 2022 World Cup, both these players did not play any T20 match for India for more than a year, however, they made a comeback in the series against Afghanistan in January 2024. While talking to ICC, Yuvraj Singh said that both the players have the right to take their own decision, but if left to them, he would like Virat and Rohit to say goodbye to their T20 International career after the World Cup.
Yuvraj Singh’s big statement regarding Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Yuvraj Singh told ICC before the T20 World Cup, “When you start getting older, people start talking about your age and they forget about your form. He has been a great player for India and he has the right to retire from this format whenever he wants.”
The former Indian cricketer said, “I would like to see more young players in the T20 format. Because this will reduce the burden on (senior players) who play 50 overs and Test matches. After this World Cup, I would like to see many young players come into the team and prepare the T20 team for the next World Cup.”
