Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra said Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) wrong approach is their biggest weakness going into the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL). Let us tell you that, IPL 2023 has been forgettable for SRH, despite having some big players in the team, it remained at the bottom of the points table.
Chopra has commented that SRH constantly changed their match combination and perhaps that is why they could not perform well last season. Referring to Umran Malik, he said that the franchise did not use the Jammu fast bowler properly.
Aakash Chopra told the biggest weakness of SRH
In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said, “When I see his weakness, I feel that his thinking is messed up. The team was good last time too, but why did they not perform well? This is because they used to change the team every third match. You have spoiled Mayank Agarwal.”
He further said, “You didn’t use Umran Malik at all, and when you did, you didn’t use him properly. He doesn’t bowl in the powerplay, but you gave him overs there. Then you didn’t feed him. “They were not making players but ruining them.”
The 46-year-old player further said that his past mistakes could ‘haunt’ him in the upcoming season as well. Chopra said, “In the end they were completely clueless. The captaincy was normal. I see it as a bit of a weakness because if you have a lot of options then when you are tempted you make a quick change.”

Chopra further said that srh Newly appointed captain Pat Cummins is a good player but believes that he will not be able to perform well in the T20 format. This cricketer turned commentator said that, “Their captain (Pat Cummins) is a very good player, but we do not put him in the list of gun players in T20, even he is not the captain of Australia.
AndHe is the ODI captain but not the T20I captain. He does not bowl much in the powerplay and death overs. If one of your overseas fast bowlers doesn’t bowl in these two key areas, that’s a problem. You see your overseas bowlers there, but here you will probably only see Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan.”
