Before Nepal, BCCI has also helped Afghanistan cricket a lot.
After supporting Afghanistan cricket for almost a decade, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to provide similar support to Nepal cricket, which will benefit the South Asia cricket ecosystem.
If all goes well, there are high chances that Nepal’s senior men’s team will reach Delhi to practice, and play some practice matches in India ahead of the T20 World Cup starting in June this year.
An official of Nepal Cricket Association gave a big statement
Let us tell you that an official of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), on the condition of anonymity, was quoted by news agency PTI as saying – Nepal Cricket Association President Chatur Bahadur recently met BCCI Secretary Jai during the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) meeting. Shah and invited him to come to New Delhi for discussions.
After the meeting between Bahadur and Shah, the BCCI secretary has asked him to send him a proposal as to what kind of help he expects. Jay Shah has been very helpful in promoting cricket in Nepal.
On the other hand, the passion for cricket in Nepal is not hidden from anyone. Whenever Nepal team plays matches, the stadiums there are completely packed. Also, let us tell you that for years, BCCI gave the under-19 team of war-torn Afghanistan cricket a place to practice in Greater Noida.
Apart from this, the cricket ground located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand has been the home ground of the Afghanistan national cricket team for a long time. However, facilities to compete with India do not currently exist in Nepal. But BCCI is fully prepared to help in the development of Nepal cricket in the coming years.
