The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently invited applications for the post of Head Coach for the Indian Senior National Team. The tenure of the new head coach will begin from July 1, 2024 and he will be part of the national team till December 31, 2027, which includes major ICC tournaments like the Champions Trophy in 2025 and the ODI World Cup 2027.
Current head coach Rahul Dravid is unlikely to continue in charge of the Indian team after the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA. His tenure ended after the ODI World Cup in November, but the BCCI decided to extend him till the T20 World Cup in July. India could not win any ICC trophy under Dravid’s leadership.
The team has performed well overall during Dravid’s tenure, reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup and the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup. Nevertheless, during his tenure, India was not able to take advantage of the home World Cup. In such a situation, everyone is curious to see who will become the next coach of Team India after Rahul Dravid.
