The right-arm fast bowler of the Australia Under-19 team, bowling explosively with line and length, took six wickets for just 24 runs in 9.5 overs and took his team to the final of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024.

With this, Tom Straker registered his name in the record books by breaking the 10-year-old record of Kagiso Rabada’s best bowling figures (6/25) in an Under-19 World Cup semi-final or final. His brilliant bowling performance helped Australia snatch the match from Pakistan by 1 wicket. Straker was named player of the match for his match-winning spell.

Meanwhile, Tom Straker was born on 19 March 2005 in Australia. This young fast bowler has represented the Australia Under-19 cricket team in all three formats of the game. So far he has played 7 ODIs, 1 Test and 1 T20I match at the youth level. He played his only Test match against the England Under-19 team in January 2023, where he recorded bowling figures of 3/58 and 1/48 in the first and second innings.

And then the next month he made his debut in Youth ODI cricket against England Under-19 team. Tom Straker recorded figures of 2/32 and 1/9 in the two matches.
