Kolkata Knight Riders won their third title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final. After the victory, the KKR team was seen celebrating in great style, many videos of which are going viral. The team made a video call to Phil Salt, a special video of which has been shared by the franchise on social media.

In the video shared by Kolkata Knight Riders, the players and support staff were seen talking to Phil Salt one by one. When the team’s spinner bowler Varun Chakraborty took the phone in his hand to talk to Salt, he kissed him. After which Varun was seen introducing Phil Salt to his son. Sharing the video on social media, the franchise wrote in the caption, ‘We made sure Phil was part of the party too!’

Phil Salt has performed brilliantly in the league stage for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. He scored 435 runs in 12 matches, including 4 half-centuries. Salt is the second highest run-scorer for the team this season. Salt had to return to England in the middle of IPL due to national duty. Due to which he could not play the playoffs.

Kolkata performed well this season

Kolkata Knight Riders had reached the playoffs of IPL 2021 before this season, as well as played the final. But the team could not win the trophy. In IPL 2024, KKR showed excellent performance in the league stage. The team became the first team to reach the playoffs.

The team topped the points table with 9 wins and 20 points in 14 matches. The team then reached the final by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier-1. Kolkata Knight Riders made the final match one-sided and won by 8 wickets and lifted the trophy after 10 years.
