The New Zealand cricket team is out of the race for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super-8. After losing the first two matches, the team won its first victory of the tournament against Uganda. In this match, Uganda, batting first, was all out for 40 runs in 18.4 overs. In response, the Kiwi team chased the target in just 5.2 overs and won the match by 9 wickets.

New Zealand is out of the tournament without playing the last match of the group stage

New Zealand is third in the Group-C points table with one win, two losses, and 2 points from three matches. The team suffered crushing defeats against Afghanistan and West Indies in the first two matches, due to which the team was out of the Super-8 race.

Afghanistan and host West Indies are in first and second place with three wins and 6 points in three matches. Both the teams have qualified for the Super-8. New Zealand will play its last match of the group stage against Papua New Guinea on June 17 at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium. The Kiwi team’s dream of winning the first World Cup could not be fulfilled in this tournament as well.
