The third test match is to be played in Rajkot from 15th February i.e. tomorrow.
Former Indian team captain Virat Kohli has withdrawn his name from the current India vs England Test series citing personal reasons. The star batsman joined the team in Hyderabad ahead of the first Test, but things changed and he decided to return home. BCCI also respected his decision.
The Indian team missed him in the first two test matches. Except for the first innings of the Hyderabad Test, India’s middle order has been seen struggling so far. This may prove to be a weak link for the host team in the third Test also.
Indian team will not miss Kohli – David Lloyd
However, former England cricketer David Lloyd has confidence in the Indian batting. He believes that Team India will not miss Kohli (Virat Kohli), because young players have emerged on these occasions. He praised Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubhman Gill.
Lloyd wrote in Daily Mail, the news is being discussed all over India that Virat Kohli will not play in the series. But I don’t think the team will be weaker than this.
He further said, Shubman Gill performed well in the second Test and Indian batsmen are capable of scoring big scores. England has faced the biggest challenge so far from Yashasvi Jaiswal. So their challenge is to work out a plan to dismiss the leading run scorer of the series.
Let us tell you that the third test match is to be played in Rajkot from 15th February i.e. tomorrow. If reports are to be believed, Sarfaraz Khan can debut in the third test. After proving himself time and again in domestic cricket, there is every possibility of Sarfaraz getting a chance. Whereas Dhruv Jurel can join the playing eleven in place of KS Bharat.
