Virat Singh has always tried to get the Jharkhand cricket team out of difficult situations. Batting at number 4, he has been successful in saving the team from uncertain situations. However, despite his stellar performances, he was ignored in the India ‘A’ and IPL 2024 auctions.

Recently, during the Jharkhand vs Services match, he played a brilliant inning of 108 runs with the help of 15 fours, taking his team out of a difficult situation. It was only because of his century that Jharkhand managed to score 316 runs.

Let us tell you that this batsman has scored eight centuries in 17 first-class matches and has often single-handedly sailed his team. After not being selected in India ‘A’, he has broken his silence on this matter for the first time.

All I have to do is perform – Virat Singh

Virat Singh was quoted by News 18 as saying, I only have to perform and I am focusing on this only. Yes, I am a little disappointed. I was hoping to be selected for India ‘A’, but no matter. I can only perform and that’s the only thing I can control.

He further said that, when there is a vacancy and the selectors feel like choosing me, they will. So whatever’s done is done. We have matches left in the Ranji season and we have to perform well in them. Hopefully they will make the India ‘A’ team in the future and that is my aim.

Sharing his experience of meeting MS Dhoni, Singh said, whenever he is free, we talk to him. We were playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (in 2016-17) and during that time he talked to me about my technique and fitness. I was not able to perform at my best then, but he inspired me.
