Team India has maintained its dominance in the T20 series against Zimbabwe and defeated Zimbabwe by 23 runs in the third T20I match played in Harare on Wednesday. With this win, Shubman Gill and company have taken a 2-1 lead. Shubman Gill displayed excellent batting in the match, while Washington Sundar bowled economically.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dubey and Sanju Samson made a comeback in this match. These three players replaced Sai Sudarshan, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag.
After winning the toss and batting first, the Indian team got off to a fast start. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill scored a lot of runs in the powerplay. Before getting out, Gill scored 66 runs in 49 balls. Jaiswal contributed 36 runs. Apart from this, Ruturaj Gaikwad played a stormy innings of 48 runs in 28 balls.
Due to this, Team India scored 182 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Zimbabwe had a very bad start and its top three batsmen returned to the pavilion for just 19 runs. And then Washington Sundar tightened the screws.
Sundar’s bowling put pressure on the key players of Zimbabwe and they kept losing wickets. Despite a good partnership between Dion Myers (65*) and Mandende (37), Zimbabwe could only score 159/6. Sundar took 3 wickets for 15 runs in four overs, for which he received the Player of the Match award.

After the match, Washington Sundar made an interesting revelation about the dismissal of Jonathan Campbell. Dubey said in the post-match interview, “Just before the ball, Riyan Parag told me that it would be great if he could catch the catch, as he came as a substitute. It was great for me to perform like that.”
